I’ll start by saying I didn’t know anything about this a few weeks ago, so I’m by no means an expert. But what the Dutch are doing is pretty wild when you think about it. I mean they are the NUMBER TWO exporter of agricultural products and services behind the US? They are the 138th largest country in the world and three times as small as the state of New York! How is that possible??!!
I’ve done some digging and while a decent amount of that value comes in the form of live plants and flowers, there’s also so much more to the story. It turns out the Netherlands has evolved into a powerhouse for high tech, innovative, and sustainable agriculture. So much so that it is now referred to as the “Food Valley” of the world.

Why Perennial Energy?
I'm chasing a lifestyle built on delicious, healthy food and sustainability. Recently I've become woke to the fact that sustainability and healthy food are inextricably intertwined. We can't fully have one without the other.
Growing up my parents put a huge emphasis on recycling, reusing stuff whenever we could, and never letting anything go to waste. That childhood experience was my motivation for studying renewable energy in college and entering the solar industry.
When I'm eating healthy, or at least mostly healthy, that's when I feel my best and have the energy to live how I want. Good tasting food has always been a core part of my life, and I'm definitely not down to give that up. The good news is I've learned I don't have to.
Healthy food and sustainability have both become huge movements in recent years, and I dig it. Perennial Energy ain't here claiming we started this shit. It's here to learn from the community, help build it, and facilitate the growth. It's also here to help combine the two movements into one, because that's what it really is.
I'm excited to learn more about how I can embrace the Perennial Energy lifestyle and share it with y'all. We're gonna have some fucking fun doing it too, because isn't that what life is really all about?
People helping people, people helping the planet, and the planet helping people. Now that's powerful stuff. Let's create Perennial Energy.
